Let's Improve Your Sailing Experience

I believe in doing the job right.  That's how I like projects done on my boats too.

"I contacted Chis and CC rigging when it came time to overhaul the rig on my last boat, “Corinna”, an Allied Princess Ketch. Having spent years as a Captain on ships at sea, and currently a San Francisco Bar Pilot, I have a lot of respect for the forces the ocean can bring to bear on a boat and its rig. The knowledge and attention to detail that Chris brought to refurbishing her spars and building the standing rigging left me confident that the job was done right. Chris also took the time to explain all aspects of the work, and kept me appraised as it progressed. It was such a positive experience, that when it came time to renew the rig on my next boat, a Passport 40, Chris was called upon again. I would recommend CC Rigging to anyone looking for high quality rigging and yacht maintenance."

Capt. Richard A. Hurt

"He is super helpful, exceedingly knowledgeable about all things rigging,  and a good man; he has helped many of my clients and I recommend him without hesitation

For rigging, I have always referred Chris Catterton of CC Rigging.  My clients have been very impressed with his skill and no one complained about prices or anything else...."

David Laird, David Laird Diving Services

'Chris did the re-tuning on the new rigging on "Impetuous"and as you know, we sailed "Impetuous" a lot that year with no problems whatsoever.

We got to know Chris because he was invited to sail along on one of our Encinal YC Friday night races.  We fouled our spinnaker halyard aloft, so Chris "free climbed" the mast and got it released....pretty impressive.  Just to make sure, we snagged the spinnaker again, and he did it again!

Again, a great guy and highly recommended.'

Mike Chambreau

"Chris is the real deal.  I got a chance to know him better as he replaced all the standing rigging, lifelines, and much of the running rigging on our Ericson 38.  His life long love of sailing is obvious in the enthusiasm, attention to detail, and skill he applied to my project.  The project ran into some unexpected challenges which Chris overcame with impressive ingenuity and hard work.  He was respectful of our budget and while he was willing to offer advice he never pushed us to spend more than we could afford.  Our shrouds were all replaced with wire but we used Amsteel for the lifelines.  Chris took the time to explain the differences between Amsteel, DUX, and wire and brought samples for me to compare.  He has specialized training and experience with these materials and it showed in the work he completed.  When the spreader tips needed replacing Chris took it on himself to contact a number of welders to get prices and lead times so I would know my options.  All in all I am grateful for the work he did and am more than comfortable recommending Chris (C.C. Rigging) for your projects too."

Ryan Levinson, Naoma

"Karl’s standing rigging was getting a bit old with 23 year and one of the lower shrouds had already broken. When I was looking for quotes to change it, I was super excited to find a message from Chris from C.C. Rigging in San Diego, offering to sell me the parts for a great price.

What an awesome offer! Chris gave me online advice to measure my rigg, we discussed different options for mounting the boom of my cutter stay and he did a fabulous job sending everything down to Guatemala. What a great guy to work with.

Thanks so much for your support, Chris!"

Nike & Karl, White Spot Pirates

"Who was our rigger you ask? Why the incomparable Chris Catterton of CC Rigging!  Besides being a hilarious, fun guy, that is easy to hang out with, he is such an expert, doling out free advice on practically anything sailboat. Chris is honest, fair, blunt and doesn’t try to upsell you, but will tell you honestly if you’re cheaping out where you shouldn’t...."

Don & Janet, S/V Bonzai

Thanks to Chris Catterton at C. C. Rigging for all the quality work.
